The marriages in Gokul in which case spouses were from Dharwar city are fewer than those in Kalyan. What is striking in Gokul is the fact that 12 girls were given in marriage as far away as 240 miles and farther. Social mobility of the Brahmans leads to wider spatial distribution of kin and hence affinal links stretch wider because of endogamy and exogamy. The average distance of girls going as wives from Gokul is 72.3 miles.

More or less the same pattern is revealed in 161 matches wherein girls came as wives to Gokul from as many as 95 different villages, towns and cities, besides Dharwar.
